Who's Eligible for the Military Bonus Cash?
Whether you purchase or lease a new vehicle, the Military Bonus Consumer Cash program offers a $500 cash allowance toward the purchase price of the vehicle. Eligible military personnel include:- Active Military
- Retired Military (Honorably Discharged)
- Active Military Reserves
- Retired Military Reserves (Honorably Discharged)
- Veterans
If you've been honorably discharged, your eligibility will remain valid for 12 months of your discharge date. In addition to veterans, those who are rated by the Department of Veteran Affairs as individually unemployable or 100% disabled veterans are eligible as well.
How Is Eligibility Determined?
In order to claim your Military Bonus Cash, you must present documentation that shows your status at the time of the purchase. However, a copy of your military ID card/badge isn't acceptable as proof of eligibility because it's illegal to copy this documentation. Instead, the following documentation is acceptable:If you're honorably discharged, you can present a copy of your DD-214. You must claim your Military Bonus Cash within 12 months of being honorably discharged. Active personnel can provide a copy of their pay stub or the Leave and Earnings Statement.Retired military personnel can provide a copy of their 1099R or their Retirement Account Statement. Disabled veterans can provide a copy of their VA Summary of Benefits Letter that shows you're paid at 100% rate due to Individual Unemployability or you have a Service Connected Disability of 100%.
